I caught the first episode of "Real World: Brooklyn." I gave up watching the show long ago, I think during "Las Vegas," when I realized I truly can't stand the teen angst most of them demonstrate. I just got too old to enjoy it. Tonight, though, I was struck by how much the Brooklyn house resembles the Seattle house from the outside. Weird.
I went for a long walk today. First I buzzed around this small wildlife park that's near my house. I love it in there during all seasons. There are lots of trees and shrubs that have berries on them so the place really attracts a lot of birds. There were a lot of robins in there. I can't ever remember seeing as many robins here in winter as I have this winter. I saw a lot of them in the trees in our yard during the recent snows and it was a strange sight. And today there were even more of them in this park. After walking around it a bit, I just stood and watched them for awhile.
After that, I went over to another walking path and took a long walk. They just extended this path, so it goes even further out along the rim of a canyon and it was quite beautiful, even though the temp was in the 30s and there was a fog. I liked looking down into the canyon and watching a red-tailed hawk fly above the trees down there. It's not often you get to look down onto a hawk as it flies along looking for a snack.
I should have posted last night, but I couldn't stay awake. We went to THE big high school rivals basketball game last night and the place was packed. We didn't get home until late because there were two games (both the boys and girls). But we had a great time.
I love watching "The Real Housewives." Doesn't matter which one -- they all seem to be pretty much the same, except the OC ones are much more tanned and wrinkled. They never fail to make me laugh. Tonight, one of their daughters was crying because her boyfriend had said she looked like a stripper and then she said, "I kind of do, though, with this dress."
Her mom, one of the "Housewives," protested, "You do not!" and went on to say she looked beautiful and not to let anyone tell her different. Then she added that of course the dress didn't make her look like a stripper, because the dress was hers (the "Housewife").
The dress was skin tight, strapless and so short, it was barely enough to cover her bits. Whenever she walked, she had to keep tugging it down and pulling it up. There just wasn't enough dress there. Yup -- stripper.
Here's one thing I think is strange about the hair of "beautiful women." It usually looks like hell, which is what I was thinking tonight while watching the "Housewives." I suppose it's because they color it and they blow-dry it, flat-iron it and/or curl it. All that heat and chemicals makes it look like straw, which I don't think is very pretty. Yet, you see it all the time. I dunno.
